How To Get Your Insurance License in Wisconsin

Wisconsin Insurance: Accident and Health Only

WI Education Requirements:
Classroom or approved correspondence
only
Life only – 20 hours
A& H only – 20 hours

Note:
Wisconsin requires individuals requesting Life or Accident & Health pre-licensing credit to take a monitored examination. In order to comply with this law, a “Disinterested Third Party” must supervise the examination. Both the disinterested third party and the student must complete and sign the  Disinterested Third Party Certification” form and return it, with a copy of your Course Completion Certificate in order to receive credit. A copy of the Instructions for Taking a Monitored Examination is found on the following page and a copy of the “Disinterested Third Party Certificate” is found following that. These instructions, as well as the Disinterested Third Party Certificate, will appear on line before you begin your Pre-Licensing Examination.

Certificate Information:
Correspondence - Upon completion of studies, student is required to take a final on-line Certification Exam. Passing this exam with a 70%+ verifies course completion and allows student to print course certificate directly from their computer. Instructions in front of textbook. Note: Certification exam
is not part of the LAH Final Exam program. It is a separate application.
Course certificates valid for 1 year from date of issue and MUST be brought to state exam or student will be denied access to test.

Online Limitations

Students must also take a final certification exam that is monitored by a Disinterested Third Party (DTP). The exam is found within the On-Demand program. If a 70%+ is obtained, after the DTP form is received by STCAdmin the student is permitted to print the certificate directly from a computer. Please allow one business day after sending necessary documents before the certificate is unlocked.
